My Journey Towards Kundalini Awakening
The Beginning:
My journey of Kundalini awakening began in 2014. Prior to this, I had no knowledge or understanding of Kundalini Shakti Yoga. The journey began unexpectedly, with constant exposure to references to the Bhagavad Gita on television, the internet, and in newspapers. Gradually, I developed an intense desire to understand what was contained within this sacred scripture.
With utmost devotion and focus, I began studying each Sanskrit verse of the Bhagavad Gita, along with its meanings, absorbing the profound wisdom it offered. Within a month, I had completed reading the Bhagavad Gita. Interestingly, during this time, I was not working due to having resigned from my job.
Positive Transformations:
Soon after, I started noticing significant positive changes in both my mental and physical states. Even before this journey, I disliked consuming alcohol or smoking, though I used to eat eggs. However, after delving into the Gita, I gave up eggs and leaned further towards spirituality, driven by an insatiable desire to seek more knowledge.
One night, around 11:30 PM or midnight, I felt warmth in my left toe, which slowly began to rise through my body. Within 15-20 minutes, I felt a sense of incredible lightness, as though all pain and discomfort had disappeared. It was as if I no longer had a physical body and was purely a being of energy.
This was an indescribable and unparalleled bliss that I wanted to experience repeatedly. However, it did not return immediately. Curious and deeply inspired, I started reading books on this subject and realized that what I had experienced was a Shaktipat, and it was catalyzed solely by the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.
Immersion in Spiritual Studies:
With a yearning for that rare and profound joy, I became deeply absorbed in spiritual studies, treating books as my guru. I read texts like Hatha Yoga, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Amritanubhava, Kundalini Shakti, and Shat-Chakra Nirupana. This helped expand my understanding of spirituality.
I began practicing simple asanas like Padmasana and Siddhasana, gradually increasing my meditation duration from 5 minutes to an hour or two. Eventually, I could sit in meditation for 3-4 hours, focusing on the Muladhara Chakra (the root chakra). Slowly, I awakened the Kundalini Shakti, which started ascending through the Swadhisthana and Manipura chakras.
Dreams and Chakras
During this phase, I experienced vivid dreams that symbolized the awakening of various chakras. For instance:
Earthquakes represented the opening of the Muladhara Chakra.
Tsunamis symbolized the activation of the Swadhisthana Chakra.
Volcanoes denoted the awakening of the Manipura Chakra.
I learned that when Kundalini is dormant, worldly activities dominate. However, as it awakens and begins its journey upwards toward its source (Shiva), the dissolution of elements and the destruction of the material world are symbolically reflected in dreams.
Advancing Through the Chakras:
During this period, I reduced my meals to one per day and meditated for 5-6 hours, focusing on the chakras. The Kundalini, in its upward journey, reached the Anahata Chakra, manifesting as a sound. Gradually, the energy crossed the Vishuddha Chakra and reached the Ajna Chakra, where I experienced a brilliant light and the divine mahanada (great sound).
Once the Kundalini reached the Ajna Chakra, I could perceive a radiant white light within 10-15 minutes of meditation. This light revealed various elemental movements and cosmic truths. For example, during the activation of the Earth element, I observed trees, humans, and the sky in black and white tones, similar to watching a movie on a screen.
The Bliss of Sahasrara:
Eventually, the Kundalini reached the Sahasrara Chakra (the crown chakra). At this point, I spontaneously began chanting Om Namah Shivaya in sheer ecstasy. In that moment, I experienced the ultimate, indescribable bliss—Sat-Chit-Ananda (being, consciousness, and bliss). A stream of nectar descended upon my entire body as the inverted lotus of the Sahasrara Chakra turned upward.
The energy danced at the crown chakra in a figure-eight motion for about an hour before gradually descending back to the Muladhara. On subsequent occasions, the Kundalini ascended to the Sahasrara within 30-35 minutes, each time granting the same profound bliss and nectarous rain.
Sometimes, this spontaneous journey occurred during meditation or even while I was asleep. The timings varied—early morning, evening, or late night. Each experience was beyond words and required no effort on my part.
A Unique Journey:
This was my personal experience of Kundalini awakening, though I understand that such experiences vary from person to person based on their karmic patterns and spiritual evolution. It is an indescribable journey, one that must be personally undertaken to be truly understood.
I hope this account inspires others to explore their
own spiritual paths with dedication and reverence.
